The Full Story

Nestled between Kei Mouth and Morgan’s Bay in the Eastern Cape, Bayview Farm is a restored Cape Dutch‑style farmhouse steeped in history. Once abandoned and in disrepair, this charming estate was uncovered by a local businessman whose vision breathed new life into the neglected property—turning it into a vibrant country venue with a “fun, friendship and laughter” ethos.

The property’s revival began around 2020, when its solid foundations and classic architecture inspired a thoughtful transformation. The restoration maintained the home’s historical character, carefully incorporating original design elements while fitting modern event and hospitality facilities.

Today, Bayview Farm serves multiple roles:

  • A restaurant and bar, featuring wood‑fired ovens, Italian‑trained chefs, and locally brewed wines and beers

  • An all‑year event venue hosting weddings, family gatherings, and corporate functions; one delighted couple even noted their January 2025 wedding was “the most beautiful venue with excellent service”

  • A boutique accommodation with capacity for around 80 guests, offering stylish rooms amid expansive gardens and spectacular valley views

Local reviews highlight more than just its scenic charm—many praise the venue’s warm hospitality and quality fare. One guest mentioned the “beautiful food, amazing wine bar and awesome gardens,” while another noted friendly staff, mouth‑watering pizza, and scenic terraces. ~ from wonderlog.com

In essence, Bayview Farm represents a successful fusion of heritage restoration and contemporary hospitality. From a derelict farmhouse, it has been thoughtfully revived into a lively community hub that honors its Cape Dutch roots while offering a premium experience for guests in Morgan’s Bay.
